For awhile it was rebooting itself during a weekly drive copy. I have a 2014 Mini running 10.14.6 in a rack as my home server. Which I don't.Īrgh, I'm having this problem too. Apple no longer makes that, unless I want to get an iPhone 8. I must have a phone I can use with one hand. Not to mention making only iPhones that even people with very large hands cannot handle with one hand, which is a key ingredient for me. In fact, I think Apple uses us as guinea pigs a lot of the time simply because they can. Macs are a small part of their business and they don't have to be great anymore. I suspect it's because they don't have to. I keep postponing upgrading to Mojave even though I really really want to, but then I see these threads and decide against it.Īpple doesn't seem to care much at all, frankly. That would have already caused me a mild heart attack.

What is a much bigger deal are the problems that a lot of you guys on Mojave seem to have with having to force shutdown the computer because of USB-C docks or the damn thing taking forever to open apps after coming back to a sleeping MacBook Pro with Mojave, etc., etc. Anyone know a Terminal command to make it lock on Sierra? I don't have the Lock Screen menu item that started with High Sierra. Not a big deal, but if I were in an environment where security was more of an issue, I'd have to do something about it. My 2016 MacBook Pro and Satechi USB-C dock that has something plugged into every port work great on 10.12.6, except the laptop sometimes falls asleep and sometimes (most of the time) doesn't. Seems like something does not wake up right, but that is pretty simplistic statement. If I use unpowered dongles and direct cables, running the same hardware works fine without any issues. AND I use both for power, they have their own bricks. It is not clear what causes this - I connect 4k monitor directly through one of the other USB-C ports, so my docks support USB drives, keyboard, ethernet dongle etc. I have two different manufacturer docks (work one ~2 years old which was quite expensive and home new Tripp Lite, on cheaper side) and it happens with both. Also, my system has no issues waking up from sleep when NOT connected to usb-c dock. So, most people may never figure out they have problem, if they have long enough period to sleep (or disabled sleep altogether). I have NO problems running with docks, if the system has not been sleeping and only had only powered off display. In my case computer has problems waking from sleep after long enough time that system was really sleeping - when connected to the dock.
